Toby – Life with a new puppy

Formally known as Red Mallow Pepper – A Hungarian Vizsla

2011 – a sad time for us and a wonderful time for Toby..

Posted by Admin on 28, April 2011

This has so far been a very sad year for our family.

We also made the decision at the end of last year that re-homing Toby would be the very best for him as we arenow travelling extensively between the UK and USA .

Toby hates kennels and is such a velcro viz it was unreasonable to ask him to spend 2 months at a time in kennels and then come home for 2 months then back to kennels etc.  In our opinion this is no life for such a beautiful boy.

To cut a very long and heartbreaking story short, we made the decision to re- home him and are forever grateful to Amanda at Hungarian Vizsla Society for all her help and support.  Without her help we would never have been able to do this.

In April 2011 Toby moved to his new home in Northern England and will hopefully be going beating and the couple who now own him are overjoyed with him.

We love him and miss him and hope he has the wonderful life he deserves.

Thank you Toby for being the best dog ever – we so miss you

Your entries of Toby are simply lovely. I wish I had found them sooner to help me through the first few weeks. Hard work….you don’t realise until you have one!!! I currently have a 5 month vizsla who I love to bits. He is at the poo eating stage, has not started rolling in it though!! It was uplifting reading your posts as I have been through many of the same things. 🙂
I am so sad to hear you had to re-home beautiful Toby but I am sure he is happy in his new palace!!! xx

Thank you so much for your kind comments. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do and we still miss him and think of him constantly. He is an amazing dog and is very very happy in his new home where he is being utterly spoilt. It was the best thing we could do for him, which at the end of the day is the most important.

Good luck with your puppy – such hard work. The only thing I would have done differently is allow him on the sofa – the battle was just not worth it and they do so like to cuddle:-)
